What Walmart Marketplace requires from an LLC
- US Business Tax ID (EIN). An Employer Identification Number (EIN) issued by the IRS is mandatory. Walmart may also request an IRS EIN verification letter (LTR 147C) or SS-4 confirmation letter (CP575).
- W-9 tax classification. US-based LLCs with an EIN complete a W-9 form. Tax information must precisely match IRS records. W-9s do not expire.
- Business name and address match IRS records. Business entity information (legal name, address, and EIN), must match IRS and government records exactly. Discrepancies delay or block approval.
- State business registration documentation. A state-issued business license, registration certificate, Articles of Incorporation, or Certificate of Good Standing showing the LLC is validly registered.
- Legal representative personal ID. A government-issued photo ID (front and back) for the applicant or legal representative of the LLC. Must be clear, well-lit, and submitted in PNG, JPG, or PDF format.
- Verified US business address. A verifiable US business address. Walmart may request a utility bill or authorization letter as proof of address.
- Payment processor account for disbursements. Walmart pays sellers through a third-party payment processor. Payoneer is the default option; you must connect a Payoneer account or another approved processor to receive payouts.
